Closing the Gap

Indigenous Health

"Improving healthcare in our community"

Through "Closing the Gap" our Government is encouraging all indigenous Australians to access our health system on a more regular basis. Our practice has joined this scheme and offers healthcare to all people with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage. Visits to our surgery for those of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage are fully funded by Medicare for patient's with Pension or Health Care Card.

CTG registered patients without a concession card will be charged private concession rates and will be out of pocket approximately $16 dollars.

All people who qualify for this scheme receive a full health check every year. For those with long term illnesses, a care plan is developed and in some cases a team care arrangement with local allied health workers is also organised. Funding is also available for our nurses to be involved in your care and many medications are provided at a cheaper rate than previously.
