Urgent Care

In an emergency, always call Queensland Ambulance on "000"

Patients with Respiratory Symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing, or loss of taste and smell should wear a mask and ring ahead. In most circumstances you will be asked to attend a doctor’s appointment at Charters Towers Respiratory Clinic. Should you only require testing for Covid-19 and not require a review by a doctor, Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is able to provide this service with a doctor’s request. Please wear a mask when attending for a Coronavirus test.

Urgent medical problems are generally dealt with each morning at 8:00am. No appointments are necessary for the early morning visits and you do not need to telephone ahead. However, we cannot guarantee you will see your regular doctor at this time. Should you wish to see your regular doctor, please make an appointment via this website or telephone (07) 4787 7203 for an appointment during normal office hours. However, should you be concerned about your health afterhours and feel it cannot wait until the following morning, please ring our afterhours doctor on 0429 877 203.

These early morning visits are not for repeat scripts or referral letters.

Should you become unwell later in normal office hours, please ring and organise an appointment. If you are worried that you or a child needs to be seen immediately please inform reception. If no appointments are available, our nurses can speak with you and if necessary organise for you to see a doctor.

For Chest pain or other medical emergencies please immediately call (Triple 0) 000, to contact Queensland Ambulance and you will be taken to the Charters Towers Hospital.
