Our aim is to provide the highest quality medical care as courteously and effectively as possible. As providers of healthcare to Charters Towers for over 30 years we pride ourselves in continually improving the range of services we offer to our community. Our practice is involved in teaching the new generation of doctors from early university studies to specialist training.
The doctors and nurses at Gold City Medical Centre endeavour to provide their patients with the best and most current treatments. We are committed to promoting health, well-being and disease prevention to all patients.
Gold City Medical Centre provides a comprehensive range of general practice health services. We treat the very young with childhood immunisation and care for common childhood illnesses. Adolescent health, women's health and men's health needs are catered for within our practice. We care for those with mental health needs and provide employment medicals. Our doctors are all trained in doing comprehensive skin checks and the surgical treatment of skin cancers. Our procedure area allows the doctors to do a wide range of minor operations under local anaesthesia.
Our practice provides after hours advice and care when neccessary, however, in an emergency always ring 000. We also offer a walk in emergency clinic 8am on weekdays and 9am on Saturdays.
Our town has a large elderly population. Our practice offers services specific to this group of patients including care of leg ulcers and management of complex medical conditions and medications. The doctors and nurses work collaboratively to perform health assessments and develop care plans for those with long term illnesses and chronic diseases such as diabetes. We provide home visits and nursing home visits to the elderly, which are arranged through our nursing staff.
